Download of identifiers and metadata
We plan to make it possible for you to download all your identifiers and their metadata in a format you can maniputate outside of EZID. Our first pass at this will be available via the API, and we will introduce it to the UI at a later date. Status, Dec. 2014: We expect to deliver a batch download API service this month as well as introduce an OAI-PMH interface for harvest of public identifiers and their metadata. Update Delivered Dec. 15, 2014: OAI delivered. Update Delivered Feb. 17, 2015: Batch download delivered.
EZID (and CDL) is in the process of becoming a Sponsoring Publisher Member of CrossRef. We are taking this step to benefit our non-profit open access (OA) publishing clients. Often, this means our clients that are library publishers. If you fit this profile, contact us (mailto: firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out more about how this will benefit you. In an nutshell, you will be able to use EZID DOIs to get CrossRef services for your OA content. Status, Dec. 14: testing with early adoptersApril 2015: in production. More information available here.
User Interface (UI) redesign
Over the next 12 months, the EZID UI will be undergoing a redesign. Changes will be phased in, avoiding as much disruption as possible. We are aiming to make the user experience ever simpler and more friendly. Status, Dec. 14: Visual April 2015: Web production design is underway.

Forward progress sometimes means saying goodbye. If you are one of the clients who enjoyed working directly with the old noid.cdlib.org server, we invite you to begin the process of transitioning to EZID. The old server is being retired on December 1, 2014. Please contact us for more details and for help planning a strategy for the move.
